Help!

If you are a Mom, then chances are you feel a great amount of pressure to be a certain way. There is so much out there every second of the day telling us how we should be. You should be able to organize your home and family schedules with ease. You should be a good housekeeper, cook, mother and wife, etc. etc.
It may seem like it is just to much… because it is! Nobody can do it all. (Or if you can than please tell me your secret!!)
Based on that, today’s strategy is to ask for help. It’s so simple, yet so hard for people to do! Asking for help can come in different ways. You can ask a friend or family member to help you with something you know they are good at. Maybe you could even trade and help each other out. Before the pandemic a friend of mine and I would take turns cleaning each others houses together. It went by faster because we would visit and just have fun with it! Other ways you can ask for help is to get someone to watch your kids so you can have a few uninterrupted hours to work. Better yet get your kids involved! They may not be pros yet but you have to start somewhere and the sooner they learn to share in the responsibilities the better. If you feel like your partner isn’t contributing as much as you’d like just start with a simple conversation of asking for help and see where it goes. I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised. Do the same for any older kids at home, talk to them and try to find things that they can be responsible for without you having to ask.
There are also many services you can hire to help with the burden. After I had my second child I hired a house cleaner. I knew it wouldn’t be forever but it was just so nice knowing that my bathrooms were going to be cleaned and the floors washed at least every couple of weeks. It was such a relief! And once my son was passed the newborn stage I didn’t feel a need for a cleaner anymore since I had more hands free time.
Maybe there is a season coming up in your life where you know you will be really busy and just won’t be able to keep up. I highly recommend looking up different services to help you make the most of your time. Here are a few services you could look into if you are needing a hand:
House cleaning
Meal prepping service
Meal delivery service
Personal shopper *
Personal assistant *
Professional organizer *
Party or event planner *
Various life coaches
( * the services I provide)
Have you used any of these services? I would love to hear your recommendations!!
The point is, weather you ask a friend or hire someone, just get the help you need when you need it. Don’t wait until you are so far behind that you are in a panic.
And as always I do free consultations so if you have any questions about my services don’t hesitate to reach out.
This post wraps up the series Procrastination to productivity. I hope you have found some useful tips and strategies to help you accomplish your goals. I feel these strategies can be applied to many different areas of your life and not just for stuff around the house.
I’m always happy to hear from you so please let me know what you think 🙂
